Youth, Leadership Training and Mentoring

Equipping students to serve the Lord through service and witness is the approach we use to share the gospel with as many people as possible. Therefore, being ministry-focused and relational in everything we do, our comprehensive  youth ministry aims to provide Christ-centered events and resources that cultivate students’ faith and aid youth leaders in making disciples.  Our motto is:  “Youth reaching youth with the gospel of Jesus Christ!!

A hot meal prepared, youth-centered worship, fun activities, and relevant Bible Studies that address topics like relationships, gender issues, rejection, life direction/purpose and more.  The Huddle is a safe space for YOU to experience truth without judgement, prayer and support. We are young people building a community that is youth led and youth fed!  If you are ages 14-21, there’s room in the HUDDLE for you!

We invite you to join with the HOWC “Y” Ministry for any of our upcoming evening Worship Nights, where youth gather for a night of praise & worship, faith sharing, and interactive preaching, dance, and drama... and more. Worship Nights offer a great way to creatively inspire, encourage, and challenge youth from all walks of life, and are open to the public.

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s largest youth employment program, connecting NYC youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer.  SYEP, participants can explore different interests and career pathways, develop productive workplace habits, and engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic, and leadership skills.  

Through our Phase 1-EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAM, students can be placed in a leadership “internship”, and earn money while participating in community service projects, perform work duties for the church, and learn skills for the workplace. Successful interns will be invited to participate in our Phase 2, LEADERSHIP MINISTRY MENTORING PROGRAM.  

Zeteo is a greek word which means “to seek in order to find.” Our winter retreat for youth is a place where, together, we seek and find the Lord. A Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning session! Sessions include worship, a guest speaker, and an original drama/skit, that unfolds during each session.

Every year features a new cast and drama theme… one we feel God leading us to share. Zeteo 2026 is going to be EXCITING, and we can’t wait to share the drama theme soon!
